The focus of the Midwest Alliance for Health Education (The Alliance) is to expand opportunities for education in rural health communities. The Alliance is a partnering consortium of health care organizations concerned about access to quality, timely continuing professional education.

What can the Alliance do for you?

We recognize the challenges when it comes to meeting the requirements for relicensure or recertification. Attending continuing education events often means time away from patient care or family life not to mention the expenses of registration and travel. For health care professionals in rural communities, these challenges can be significant.

That’s why the Alliance seeks to expand access to continuing education programs. We envision a system where health care providers can access qualified health care information at the most appropriate time and in the most appropriate format for learning. The Alliance is connecting the content providers with the health care professionals facing challenges in accessing quality interactive programming. Technology is the vehicle that can make this all possible.

MAHE helps,

Leading members in the Alliance come from organizations located in Michigan, Indiana and Kansas. For more information about the members make sure to check out our Members tab. Our collaboration began in early 2008 as a result of actions of the Midwest Alliance for Telehealth and Technology Resources, a federally funded Telehealth Resource Center that served Indiana, Kansas and Michigan. (Grant G22-TH07758, Office for the Advancement of Telehealth, Health Resources and Services Administration/DHHS). Since forming, many other organizations have joined the consortium. The Alliance is a Rural Health Care Services Outreach Grant Program specifically funded by Grant D04RH12758, Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Together we can make a difference for health care professionals requiring continuing education – and the patients they serve.
